A Photographic assignment that will highlight the social issues associated with Child Poverty and the effects of Child Poverty when taken as a global issue.
Through a series of photographs taken in conjunction with a number of partners and alliances who are already working on the issues associated with child poverty, we will attempt to highlight not only the issues themselves but also the ways in which we can alleviate them. This in turn will show the effects of alleviating these issues.
Aims:
- Raise awareness through the use of photographic images of the causes, extent, nature and impact of poverty, and strategies for its eradication and prevention;
- Highlight the social issues associated with child poverty;
- Highlight the effects of the issues associated with child poverty;
- Bring about positive policy changes for families with children in poverty;
Objectives:
- To work with effective partners and alliances who already have an understanding of the issues associated with child poverty
- Identify what the social issues associated with child poverty are;
- Look at ways in which we can evaluate the issues associated with child poverty;
- Look at ways in which we can alleviate the issues associated with child poverty;
- Look at the effects that will be caused by alleviating the issues associated with child poverty;
Overview:
Through a series of photographs taken in conjunction with a number of partners and alliances who are already working on the issues associated with child poverty, we will attempt to highlight not only the issues themselves but also the ways in which we can alleviate them. This in turn will show the effects of alleviating these issues.
One of the outcomes of this assignment will be to show what effect the alleviating of these issues are, this could be both positive and negative depending on the situation of the child or the family. The assignment will include images from various nations, both in the developing and the developed world to show attempt to show that one countries economic situation does not necessarily impact on the level or the cause of child poverty.
We will also attempt to highlight the various moral and religious issues that are involved, as different countries have in some instances different moral and religious standards. We will try to show that each value has a place and that maybe we should not judge based solely on our own moral and religious codes but that we should take into consideration the moral codes of others.
The assignment will start with no prior agenda but will be solely faced on the facts and the issues involved. This is no political, religious or moral reasons for undertaking such an assignment just a deep notion that we need to bring to the publics’ attention the issues, ways in which we can evaluated the issues, ways in which we can alleviate the issues and the effects of alleviation.
